Most players don't notice how fast the early game opens up once the Gunsmith starts climbing. You go from "nice blueprint" to "I can actually build this thing" in no time, and that's when the loot you've been stashing finally matters. If you're still trying to piece it all together through random scav runs, you'll feel the drag pretty quickly. It helps to know what you're aiming for and which ARC Raiders Items are worth prioritising, because the right materials let you craft serious weapons instead of limping through the next expedition with whatever drops.
Why the Loading Bay run works
The cleanest loop I've found is in Calabantis, and it's simple enough that you can do it half-asleep. Drop in and head straight for the Loading Bay, not the side rooms, not the fights, none of that. You're after the Admin Room. Inside, you'll spot the chunky green server racks. Search them all. Those things cough up the boring-but-essential stuff you keep running out of: Mechanical Components, Rusted Gears, Rusted Tools, plus a decent shot at Advanced Mechanical Components. It's not glamorous, but it's steady, and steady is what upgrades need.
A quick route that avoids the usual mess
Start on the second floor of the Admin Room and clear every server you can reach up there first. Don't rush it and miss one behind a corner; it adds up. When the top level's tapped out, drop down toward the Metro entrance below. There's another cluster of racks down there, and they're just as good. Loot, don't overstay, extract clean. Then re-queue and run it again. Do it in order: first the upper servers, second the drop, third the Metro servers, fourth extract. Two or three successful loops usually fills out your base materials to the point where the Gunsmith upgrades stop feeling like a chore.
Getting Sentinel Firing Cores without wasting hours
Here's the one drawback: server racks won't solve Sentinel Firing Cores. When you hit the higher Gunsmith levels, that's the wall. So you switch gears. Head to active battleground zones and push toward the centre where the fighting's already happening. You'll often find cores grouped close together, like the game wants you to commit to the danger for a minute. Keep your head on a swivel, grab what you can, and get out before you turn it into a long, messy firefight. If you're short on time or you just want a smoother path to your builds, some players also top up key gear and currency through RSVSR so they can stay focused on upgrading and crafting instead of repeating low-value scav runs.
